Woodland nursery wallpaper: forest animals and bunnies
For a woodland nursery, start with the animals: Woodland nursery (creatures in leafy wreaths on warm beige), Bunny nursery (black-and-white rabbits) or Moon and bunny nursery (rabbits on crescent moons in soft gray). Pair them with a quieter repeat such as Teddy Bear Striped, Neutral Nursery Cloud, Clouds or Scandinavian floral nursery. A 9-foot accent wall on an 8-foot ceiling takes four 108-inch panels, $480 for our kids' designs. Order a $15 sample of each finalist first.
1. What makes a woodland nursery.
A woodland nursery is a quiet theme: soft animals, leaves and a palette that sits easily with wood furniture. It suits a baby now and still looks like a storybook when your child starts naming the animals.
- Start from the wood. Oak, walnut and cane suit warm beige. White or gray furniture suits the black-and-white and soft gray designs.
- Paper one wall. Usually the crib wall. A forest on every wall is a lot for a small room.
- Let the room carry the rest. A sage throw, a fox print or a wooden mobile keeps the theme going without more pattern.
Every design here works for any baby, and all of them come from our kids’ collections.
2. Woodland animals and bunnies.
These three are the heart of the theme, and they go in three different directions. Our woodland and bunny nursery wallpaper page puts them side by side.
- Woodland nursery: woodland creatures gathered in leafy wreaths on a warm beige ground. The full forest scene, with the most to look at up close and the warmest palette.
- Bunny nursery: black-and-white woodland rabbits with small botanical motifs. A graphic pick that works with almost any nursery color.
- Moon and bunny nursery: rabbits resting on crescent moons with stars, in soft gray and white. A woodland room with a bedtime theme.
For a toddler who wants bigger, brighter animals, see the safari nursery guide. For moons and stars on their own, see the stars and moon nursery guide. For the rabbits alone, see the bunny nursery guide.
3. Quieter repeats to pair with the forest.
If the animals belong in the bedding and the books, or you want a second wall or a reading nook to match, these keep the woodland mood without another scene:
- Teddy Bear Striped: teddy bears on gentle beige stripes in a sage palette. The closest to a forest green here.
- Neutral Nursery Cloud: watercolor clouds in warm beige and olive tones, beside Woodland nursery’s warm ground.
- Clouds: rounded white clouds drifting across a soft gray ground, beside the gray bunny designs.
- Scandinavian floral nursery: small black line-drawn flowers and stems spaced across white. A woodland floor of wildflowers, in black and white.

4. Plan the wall and the panels.
Every kids’ design comes in 30-inch-wide panels in nine heights, priced $90 to $180 per panel. Divide the wall width by 30 and round up for the panel count. Add 4 inches to the wall height for trim and alignment, then choose the shortest panel height that covers it.
| Wall | Panels across | Panel height | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 9 ft wide, 8 ft high (108 × 96 in) | 108 ÷ 30 = 3.6, so 4 | 108 in | 4 × $120 = $480 |
| 12 ft wide, 8 ft high (144 × 96 in) | 144 ÷ 30 = 4.8, so 5 | 108 in | 5 × $120 = $600 |
Prices are before tax, with free US shipping. The nursery wallpaper calculator does the same math for your own wall. For measuring and timing the install before baby arrives, see the nursery wallpaper guide.
The panels peel off rather than being stripped, but we have not published our own removal tests, so test a sample on your paint before you commit to a full wall. The removal guide covers what affects it.
5. Start with a $15 sample.
Warm beige and soft gray look very different in a north-facing nursery than on a phone, so see them in the room before you order panels. Order a sample of each finalist from our samples page, or straight from a design: Woodland nursery sample, Bunny nursery sample, Moon and bunny nursery sample or Teddy Bear Striped sample. Each is $15 with free US shipping.

Questions
What wallpaper suits a woodland nursery?
Start with the animals. Woodland nursery has woodland creatures in leafy wreaths on warm beige, Bunny nursery has black-and-white rabbits with small botanical motifs, and Moon and bunny nursery puts rabbits on crescent moons in soft gray and white. Teddy Bear Striped, Neutral Nursery Cloud, Clouds and Scandinavian floral nursery are quieter repeats that suit the same room.
Is there a forest wallpaper that is not too busy for a nursery?
Bunny nursery and Moon and bunny nursery read as a gentle repeat from the doorway. Woodland nursery has the most detail, so it suits one accent wall with plain paint on the others.
Does a woodland theme work for a boy or a girl?
Either. These designs stay in beige, sage, gray, black and white, so they suit any baby. Choose by the wood tones and fabrics already in the room.
How many panels does a woodland accent wall take?
Divide the wall width in inches by 30 and round up. A 9-foot wall on an 8-foot ceiling takes four 108-inch panels at $120 each, $480 for our kids' designs. A 12-foot wall takes five, $600.
