Bunny nursery wallpaper: gentle rabbits for a baby's room

For a bunny nursery, choose between Bunny nursery (black-and-white woodland rabbits with small botanical motifs) and Moon and bunny nursery (rabbits resting on crescent moons with stars, in soft gray and white). Both work for any baby. Pair them with a quiet repeat such as Clouds, Stars, Scandinavian floral nursery or Teddy Bear Striped. A 7-foot accent wall on an 8-foot ceiling takes three 108-inch panels, $360 for our kids' designs. Order a $15 sample of each finalist first.

1. Choosing a bunny nursery.

Rabbits are one of the most searched nursery themes because they are gentle without being sugary. The choice is less about the rabbit and more about the room around it: how much pattern you want, and whether the palette is black and white, soft gray or warm.

  • Pick the palette first. White or gray furniture suits the black-and-white and gray designs. Warm wood suits a beige companion.
  • Paper one wall. Usually the crib wall. Rabbits on every wall turn a small room into a stage set.
  • Let the room carry the rest. A knitted blanket, a plush rabbit or a framed print keeps the theme going without more pattern.

Every design here works for any baby, and all of them come from our kids’ collections.

2. The two rabbit designs.

These are the rabbit wallpapers in our range, and they go in different directions. Our woodland and bunny nursery wallpaper page shows them beside the woodland scene.

  • Bunny nursery: black-and-white woodland rabbits with small botanical motifs. A graphic pick that works with almost any nursery color.
  • Moon and bunny nursery: rabbits resting on crescent moons with stars, in soft gray and white. The bedtime version, and the calmest of the two.

For the whole forest, with the animals in leafy wreaths, see the woodland nursery guide. For moons and stars on their own, see the stars and moon nursery guide.

3. Companions for the bunnies.

If you want a second wall, or a pattern in the bedding and curtains, these stay quiet beside the rabbits:

  • Scandinavian floral nursery: small black line-drawn flowers and stems spaced across white. Rabbits and wildflowers, in black and white.
  • Clouds: rounded white clouds drifting across a soft gray ground, beside Moon and bunny nursery.
  • Stars: small gray stars scattered evenly across white. From across the room it reads as a light texture.
  • Teddy Bear Striped: teddy bears on gentle beige stripes in a sage palette, for a warmer room.
  • Woodland nursery: woodland creatures gathered in leafy wreaths on a warm beige ground. The most detailed of the set, so give it a wall to itself.

Prefer flowers to rabbits? The floral nursery guide covers the soft florals. To sort designs by palette, see the gender-neutral nursery guide.

4. Plan the wall and the panels.

Every kids’ design comes in 30-inch-wide panels in nine heights, priced $90 to $180 per panel. Divide the wall width by 30 and round up for the panel count. Add 4 inches to the wall height for trim and alignment, then choose the shortest panel height that covers it.

5. Start with a $15 sample.

Black and white, soft gray and warm beige all look different in a north-facing room than on a phone, so see them in the room before you order panels. Order a sample of each finalist from our samples page, or straight from a design: Bunny nursery sample, Moon and bunny nursery sample, Scandinavian floral nursery sample or Teddy Bear Striped sample. Each is $15 with free US shipping.

Questions

What is the best bunny wallpaper for a nursery?

It depends on the palette. Bunny nursery has black-and-white woodland rabbits with small botanical motifs, a crisp graphic repeat. Moon and bunny nursery has rabbits resting on crescent moons with stars in soft gray and white, a quieter bedtime feel. Both suit any baby.

Is there a rabbit wallpaper that is not too cartoonish?

Both rabbit designs are drawn in a restrained palette, black and white or soft gray and white, so they read as a gentle pattern from across the room. Order a $15 sample of each to judge the scale on your own wall.

What goes well with bunny wallpaper in a nursery?

Keep the other patterns quiet. Clouds and Stars suit the gray and white bunnies, Scandinavian floral nursery sits well with the black-and-white rabbits, Teddy Bear Striped adds beige and sage, and Woodland nursery adds a full forest scene.

How many panels does a bunny accent wall take?

Divide the wall width in inches by 30 and round up. A 7-foot wall on an 8-foot ceiling takes three 108-inch panels at $120 each, $360 for our kids' designs. An 11-foot wall on a 9-foot ceiling takes five 120-inch panels, $625.
