Peel and stick wallpaper for a nursery accent wall

Peel and stick wallpaper suits a nursery accent wall because you paper one wall with a few 30-inch panels. Choose a calm print (Stars, Clouds, Neutral Nursery Cloud) for a quiet room or a busier one (Bunny nursery, Moon and bunny nursery, Teddy Bear Striped) for a focal point. A 10-foot wall on an 8-foot ceiling takes four 108-inch panels, $480 for our kids' designs. Order a $15 sample first.

1. Why peel-and-stick for one nursery wall.

A nursery accent wall is a small, finite job: one wall, a few panels. Peel-and-stick fits that well. You order exactly the panels the wall needs, and there are no paste buckets or smoothing tools to set up around a crib.

  • Plan it early. Measure and order while the room is still empty, and hang the panels before the furniture goes in.
  • Keep it to one wall. The other walls stay painted, which keeps the room calm.
  • Pick the wall first. Our nursery accent wall ideas compare the crib wall, the rocking-chair wall and more.

Every design here comes from our kids’ collections.

2. Calm or busy prints.

On a single wall, the real choice is how much the print asks for your attention.

  • Stars: small stars spaced across the wall. A quiet pick that reads as texture from across the room.
  • Clouds: rounded white clouds drifting across a soft gray ground.
  • Neutral Nursery Cloud: watercolor clouds in warm beige and olive tones, for a room with wood furniture.

For a wall that is the focal point of the room, go busier:

  • Bunny nursery: black-and-white woodland rabbits with small botanical motifs.
  • Moon and bunny nursery: rabbits resting on crescent moons with stars, in soft gray and white.
  • Teddy Bear Striped: teddy bears on gentle beige stripes in a sage palette, the liveliest of the six.

A busy print on one wall can sit beside plain walls and neutral bedding without competing. A calm print is easier to keep as the child grows.

3. Measure with the nursery calculator.

Kids’ designs come in 30-inch-wide panels in nine heights, priced $90 to $180 per panel. Divide the wall width in inches by 30 and round up. Add 4 inches to the wall height for trim and alignment, then choose the shortest panel height that covers it.

For example, a 10-foot wall on an 8-foot ceiling is 120 inches wide, so 120 ÷ 30 = 4 panels. At 96 inches high plus 4 inches of trim, you need the 108-inch height: 4 × $120 = $480. Prices are before tax, with free US shipping.

Type in your own wall on the nursery wallpaper calculator to get the panel count and price, or see three worked walls in our nursery accent wall cost guide.

4. Check the pattern repeat.

Panels sit side by side, so the motif continues from one to the next. Look at the sample or the product page to see how the pattern repeats, and keep a larger motif, like a bear or a rabbit, away from where a door or window frame will cut it off.

5. Start with a $15 sample.

Colors change between morning light and a lamp, so see them on your wall before you order panels. Order a sample of each finalist from our samples page, or straight from a design: Stars sample, Clouds sample, Bunny nursery sample or Teddy Bear Striped sample. Each is $15 with free US shipping.

  • Tape the samples on the wall where the panels will go.
  • Hold them next to the bedding, the rug and the crib finish.
  • Check them in the evening under the lamp you will use for night feeds.

Questions

Can you use peel and stick wallpaper for a nursery accent wall?

Yes. A nursery accent wall is one wall, usually the one behind the crib or the rocking chair, so it takes a handful of 30-inch panels. Peel-and-stick panels suit it because you can plan the wall, order only the panels you need and do the work before the baby arrives. For which wall to choose, see our nursery accent wall ideas.

Should a nursery accent wall be calm or busy?

Either works on one wall. Calm prints such as Stars, Clouds and Neutral Nursery Cloud fade into the room, while Bunny nursery, Moon and bunny nursery and Teddy Bear Striped give you more to look at. Order a $15 sample of two or three and tape them up before you decide.

How many panels does a nursery accent wall take?

Divide the wall width in inches by 30 and round up. A 10-foot wall on an 8-foot ceiling takes four 108-inch panels at $120 each, $480 for our kids' designs. The nursery wallpaper calculator does the same math for your own wall.
