Holiday accent wall wallpaper, for December and all winter
For a Christmas accent wall, paper one wall you see every day, such as the wall behind the tree or the dining room wall. Choose a Christmas design like Christmas branch, Aesthetic Christmas or Charming White Christmas Trees for the season, or a winter design like Snowflake, Frosted Pines or Birch Calm that can stay up all winter. A 10-foot wall on an 8-foot ceiling takes four 108-inch panels, $480. Order a $15 sample before you commit.
1. Christmas only, or all winter?
Decide first how long the wall should stay up. That one choice sorts our twelve holiday designs into two groups.
- Christmas. Mistletoe, Christmas trees and pine branches say December clearly. They suit a wall you plan to change after the holidays.
- All winter. Snowflakes, pines, birches, deer and winter botanicals read as the season rather than the holiday, so they still look right in February.

2. Where a holiday wall works.
One wall is enough. Pick the one people see most during the holidays.
- Behind the tree. A quiet pattern frames the tree without competing with the ornaments. Keep it to the width of the corner or the wall section the tree stands in.
- The dining room. The wall behind the table is in every holiday meal and every photo of it.
- The entry. A short entry wall is often only two or three panels wide, and it greets every guest.
- A child’s room. A winter design such as Snowflake or Deer can suit a kid’s room through the season. For the rest of the year, see our kids’ collections.
3. Designs that say Christmas.
- Christmas branch: minimal modern pine branches on a light ground.
- Aesthetic Christmas: delicate mistletoe sprigs on soft white.
- Green Christmas mistletoe: farmhouse mistletoe in muted greens, for a warmer, country look.
- Charming White Christmas Trees: white Christmas trees on a light ground, an understated monochrome.
4. Designs for the whole winter.
- Snowflake: a minimal snowflake pattern, neutral enough to live beyond December.
- Midnight Snowfall: black-and-white snowfall, graphic but quiet.
- Frosted Pines: frosted blue pines, a serene winter forest.
- Gray Simple Pines: a simple gray pine motif, neutral and minimal.
- Birch Calm: minimalist black-and-white birch silhouettes.
- Winter floral: Scandinavian winter flowers in muted tones.
- Moody Christmas: a jewel-blue Scandinavian botanical pattern of leaves and berries. Christmas in name, but with no trees or ornaments it can stay up past December.
- Deer: a black-and-white mid-century deer motif.
If you are torn between two groups, a winter design behind the tree gives you the holiday look in December and a calm wall afterward.
5. Plan the wall.
Every holiday design comes in 30-inch-wide panels in nine heights, priced $90 to $180 per panel. Divide the wall width by 30 and round up for the panel count. Add 4 inches to the wall height for trim and alignment, then choose the shortest panel height that covers it. Our measuring guide walks through it step by step.
| Wall | Panels across | Panel height | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entry, 6 ft wide, 8 ft high (72 × 96 in) | 72 ÷ 30 = 2.4, so 3 | 108 in | 3 × $120 = $360 |
| Dining room, 10 ft wide, 8 ft high (120 × 96 in) | 120 ÷ 30 = 4 | 108 in | 4 × $120 = $480 |
| Living room, 14 ft wide, 9 ft high (168 × 108 in) | 168 ÷ 30 = 5.6, so 6 | 120 in | 6 × $125 = $750 |
Prices are before tax, with free US shipping. The nursery wallpaper calculator uses the same panel math and panel prices, so it works for any wall.
6. Timing and after the season.
Every panel is printed to order, and typical door-to-door time in the US is about one week; our shipping policy has the details. Order samples first, choose, then order panels with time to spare before you decorate.
If you plan to take the wall down in January, read our removal guide first. We have not yet completed our own removal tests, so we make no promise about how panels come off a particular wall. Test a sample on your paint, or choose a winter design you are happy to leave up.
7. Start with a $15 sample.
Holiday rooms are lit by tree lights, candles and short afternoons, which change how whites, greens and blues look. Order a sample of each finalist from our samples page, or straight from a design: Christmas branch sample, Snowflake sample, Frosted Pines sample or Moody Christmas sample. Each is $15 with free US shipping.
- Tape the samples on the wall you plan to paper.
- Look at them in daylight and again in the evening with the tree lights on.
- Step back across the room: a small repeat reads as texture, a larger one as a pattern.

Questions
Which holiday wallpaper designs work beyond December?
Snowflake, Midnight Snowfall, Frosted Pines, Gray Simple Pines, Birch Calm, Winter floral, Moody Christmas and Deer show winter rather than Christmas, so they can stay up through the colder months. Christmas branch, Aesthetic Christmas, Green Christmas mistletoe and Charming White Christmas Trees read as Christmas.
How many panels does a Christmas accent wall take?
WallJoy panels are 30 inches wide, so divide the wall width in inches by 30 and round up. A 10-foot-wide dining room wall on an 8-foot ceiling takes four 108-inch panels at $120 each, $480 before tax with free US shipping.
Can I take a holiday wall down after the season?
The panels are peel-and-stick, with no paste. How cleanly they come off depends on the wall, the paint and the material, and we have not yet completed our own removal tests. Test a $15 sample on your paint and read our removal guide before you plan a wall for one season.
